Keel Guard 27291 Megaware SkegGuard Stainless Steel Skeg Protector for Yamaha 115-130

The Megaware SkegGuard 27291 is a precision-fit stainless steel skeg protector and replacement skeg designed for Yamaha outboard motors. Whether you're protecting a healthy skeg from future damage or repairing one that's already broken, the SkegGuard delivers a durable, cost-effective solution that can save hundreds of dollars over professional skeg repair or lower unit replacement.

Constructed from 18-gauge marine grade 316 stainless steel with a mirror-polished finish, the SkegGuard is built to withstand the harsh marine environment. It closely conforms to your motor's lower unit profile, ensuring no discernible increase in drag or compromise to performance on the water.

Key Features:

• 18-gauge marine grade 316 stainless steel construction for maximum corrosion resistance
• Mirror-polished finish for long-lasting shine and a clean OEM appearance
• Reinforced 3mm wear tab across the bottom — the most vulnerable area — to absorb impact from rocks, debris, and ramp dragging
• Drain hole on the bottom prevents water from collecting, reducing the risk of corrosion and freeze damage
• Installs with as little as 2"–3" of original skeg remaining — no welding required
• Self-locking hardware included — installs in under 10 minutes with common hand tools
• 3-Year Manufacturer's Warranty

The SkegGuard slides over the existing skeg and is tapped into place with a rubber mallet, then secured using a standard 1/4-inch drill bit and the included hardware. It is a far stronger and more affordable fix than welding or replacing the lower skeg unit entirely.
