Megaware KeelGuard 27331 SkegGuard Stainless Steel Skeg Protector for Yamaha 40-50hp

The Megaware KeelGuard SkegGuard 27331 is a precision-fit stainless steel skeg protector engineered to defend your Yamaha outboard motor's lower unit against the most common causes of skeg damage — ramp dragging, submerged rocks, stumps, and hidden underwater debris. It also serves as a cost-effective solution to repair or replace an already broken skeg, saving hundreds of dollars over professional welding or lower unit replacement.

Key Features:

• 18-gauge marine-grade 316 stainless steel construction with a mirror-polished finish for long-lasting corrosion resistance and appearance
• Reinforced 3mm lower wear tab provides extra thickness at the skeg's most vulnerable point, protecting against ramp dragging and river running hazards
• Drain hole on the bottom prevents water from collecting and becoming stagnant, reducing the risk of corrosion and freeze damage
• Conforms to your lower unit for a precise, flush fit with no discernible drag or compromise to performance
• Installs in under 10 minutes using a rubber mallet and standard tools — no marine technician required
• Can be installed with as little as 2–3 inches of original skeg remaining, making it ideal for broken skeg repair
• Secured with self-locking hardware and pre-drilled holes for a 1/4-inch drill bit
• 3-Year Warranty backed by Megaware KeelGuard, Inc.

The SkegGuard 27331 is designed specifically for select Yamaha outboard motors and provides a stronger, more affordable alternative to skeg welding or full lower unit service. Whether you're protecting a healthy skeg or rehabilitating a damaged one, this direct-fit guard delivers professional-grade protection with a simple DIY install.
