Product Details

The Sierra 18-5709 Rectifier is a high-quality replacement charging component designed specifically for Johnson and Evinrude outboard motors. This rectifier converts alternating current (AC) from the stator into direct current (DC) to properly charge your boat's battery and power onboard electrical systems.

Key Features:

  • 4-wire design with 4-5 amp rating for reliable charging performance
  • Direct replacement for OEM part numbers 581778, 582304, 583940, and 173692
  • Compatible with various Johnson/Evinrude models from 9.9 HP to 60 HP (1977-1979)
  • Also replaces Mallory Marine 9-17201
  • Durable construction engineered to meet or exceed OEM specifications
  • Backed by Sierra's industry-leading warranty

This rectifier is an essential electrical component that prevents battery drain and ensures your outboard motor's charging system operates correctly. Common symptoms of a failing rectifier include dead batteries, inoperative tachometer, and no charging output from the motor. The Sierra 18-5709 provides reliable performance at a fraction of the cost of original equipment parts.

great pricing

Autoplicity had the part I needed at a price half of the local autoparts store. Shipping is reasonable when multiple items are purchased, for one item the shipping charge seems high. Took them awhile to ship the order(3 full business days) which I think is too long, but they are the cheapest. Only other comment was I usedAmazon payments to pay and then got a coupl of emails from autoplicity asking me to complete my order, which I had already done.<br>Overall a pretty good experience and an excellent price.
