Versatile and easy to use solution to provide household power while away from the dock.
The Xantrex XM series inverters are a great way to add AC power to your boat or RV. This compact inverter provides AC power from the batteries that is compatible with all but the most sensitive electronics. Ideal as a complement to an electrical system that already has a charging system or as a quiet alternative to running the generator.
Compatible with most loads, the XM inverter uses modified sine wave AC power to deliver power to less sensitive electronics, appliances, microwaves, power tools and more. Using the inverter is as easy as plugging in. An integrated GFCI outlet offers a total of 2 places to connect appliances and equipment using a household plug. For complete onboard systems, a hardwire option is available for the convenience of AC outlets throughout the boat or RV.
A built in transfer switch automatically transitions power from the batteries to shore power (grid) or generator power when current is detected. The transfer is completed within 40 milliseconds and is hardly noticeable by users and equipment.
Installation is easier. Externally mounted DC terminal studs on the back of the inverter make connecting to the battery straightforward and don’t require disassembling inverter to make connections. The detachable display can be installed in a convenient location for easy access to control and monitoring features. Integrated mounting flanges slotted holes to make installation in challenging locations easier.
Safety features protect both the inverter and the boat. The XM will shut down as DC voltage dips to 10.5V to protect the battery bank from excessive discharge. An alarm will alert you before the system shuts down to provide the opportunity to save computer work or shut down equipment before power is cut off. Over-voltage protection keeps the inverter functioning within its capacity even as demand increases. Over-temperature protection prevents the inverter from functioning in damaging heat.
1000W output capacity will satisfy small to moderate AC demands. Boaters will enjoy the use of small microwaves, appliances, power tools and electronics. Caution will be required not to exceed output by operating too many devices at one time. A 2000W surge capacity will allow start up loads without tripping the breakers.
