Sizing & Installation Tips: To determine the correct cable length, read the length and part number printed on the existing cable, or measure the unobstructed cable route from the control to the engine throttle/shift attachment point. For outboard installations, add 18 inches to your measurement. Install using common hand tools by removing the old cable and routing the new cable in reverse order. Do not lubricate the core. Avoid tight or sharp bends during installation.

Replace your throttle and shift cable when you notice excessive free play or stiffness at the control, or when you observe chafed, broken, bent, or loose components. Throttle and shift cables cannot be repaired — replacement is the only correct service action.
