The Maretron NBE100-01 Network Bus Extender allows you to expand beyond the standard limitations of NMEA 2000 networks, making it ideal for large marine installations. NMEA 2000 networks are typically limited to 50 nodes, a 200-meter trunk length, and 78 meters of cumulative drop length. The NBE100 solves these constraints by splitting your network into two electrical segments that function as a single logical network.
How It Works:
Simply disconnect your network trunk in the middle and connect both ends to the NBE100 along with additional termination resistors. This creates two separate electrical segments, each supporting up to 50 nodes for a total of 100 nodes on your network. The NBE100 transparently routes all NMEA 2000 messages between segments while using advanced priority-based routing to ensure critical messages are always transmitted first.
