MasterVolt Battery Isolators & Voltage Sensitive Relays
When it comes to reliable power distribution in marine electrical systems, MasterVolt has established itself as a leader in battery isolators and voltage sensitive relays. The Dutch manufacturer's approach to this critical category combines traditional diode-based technology with innovative electronic solutions designed specifically for the demanding marine environment.
BI Battery Isolators: Proven Diode Technology
MasterVolt's BI battery isolators are based on conventional diode technology and are fully solid state, preventing wear. These units feature completely corrosion-proof material with aluminium heat sinks, and synthetic end plates with connection lugs and solid bolt connections with nuts and locking rings ensure easy installation. The diode voltage drop can be compensated through integration with MasterVolt's Mass battery chargers and Alpha Pro charge regulators, which come standardly equipped with automatic voltage drop compensation.
Battery Mate: Advanced Electronic Isolators
Where MasterVolt truly distinguishes itself is with the Battery Mate line. While BI battery isolators are conventional diode splitters, the Battery Mate's technology is electronic and includes mosfets (transistors), and its components compensate for the voltage drop and ensure that charging continues at the right voltage level, even with several battery banks. Models 1602/1603 are suitable for alternators with a maximum charge current of 160 amp, while the Battery Mate 2503 is ideal for alternators with a maximum charge current of 250 amp.
These units perform far better than conventional battery isolators and ensure fast and complete charging of your batteries without having to make additional adjustments to the alternator. The Battery Mate includes LED indicators for active power input and features DIN rail mounting compatibility for straightforward installation. This makes them particularly valuable in dual-battery marine systems where reliable separation and simultaneous charging are essential.
Marine-Grade Construction
All MasterVolt isolator products are engineered for the harsh marine environment. The synthetic-encased electronic components resist corrosion, while aluminum heat sinks provide effective thermal management. The solid-state design eliminates mechanical wear points, contributing to long service life aboard vessels where reliability cannot be compromised. Whether you're outfitting a recreational sailboat or a commercial fishing vessel, these isolators integrate seamlessly with various alternator types and battery technologies including AGM, Gel, and Lithium-Ion configurations.
