Quick Nautic Boiler Marine Water Heaters
For boaters who refuse to sacrifice comfort at sea, Quick has built a well-earned reputation as one of the most trusted names in marine hot water systems. Their water heaters, sold under the iconic Nautic Boiler banner, are purpose-built for the demands of the marine environment — where corrosion, limited space, and dual power sources are everyday realities.
The Nautic Boiler Product Range
Quick's water heater lineup is organized into several distinct series, each designed to meet different onboard space and capacity requirements. The B3, BX, BXS, BK2, and BK3 product lines cover a wide range of tank sizes, from compact 3.9-gallon units up to large 52.8-gallon tanks, making them suitable for everything from a weekend runabout to a full-size cruising vessel.
- B3 Series: The workhorse of the lineup, the B3 features a composite plastic exterior casing paired with an AISI 316 stainless steel inner tank. Its round form factor and adjustable mounting brackets allow installation at any angle — horizontal to vertical — making it ideal for tight bilge spaces.
- BX Series: The BX steps up to a full stainless steel exterior (AISI 304 casing, AISI 316 inner tank), delivering extra durability in harsh environments. Capacity ranges from 3.9 to 26.4 gallons.
- BXS Series: A square-profile all-stainless design that maximizes usable tank volume within compact footprints of 6.6 and 10.5 gallons — a smart choice when cabinetry and storage space are at a premium.
Engineering That Handles the Marine Environment
What sets Quick's Nautic Boilers apart from generic water heaters is the attention to marine-specific construction. All tanks are fabricated from AISI 316 stainless steel and welded using Argon shielding gas, which yields exceptional resistance to the corrosive agents found in saltwater environments. The heat exchangers are also built from AISI 316L stainless steel with a wide exchange surface area that delivers above-average thermal efficiency.
Each unit is equipped with an Incoloy electric heating element fitted with an adjustable safety bi-thermostat, giving boaters precise temperature control whether plugged into shore power or underway. When running the engine, a stainless steel heat exchanger coil recovers heat from the engine's cooling system to warm the tank — so hot water is essentially "free" while motoring. Thermal retention is handled by high-density polyurethane foam injected between the outer cover and the inner tank wall, minimizing heat loss over time.
Every Nautic Boiler also includes a temperature/pressure relief valve and a relief/non-return valve, enabling safe discharge of the water heater when the vessel is laid up or out of service.
Installation Flexibility and Warranty
Quick designed the Nautic Boiler for real-world installation challenges. The 316L stainless steel mounting brackets support both base (deck) mount and bulkhead mount configurations, and the B3 series specifically can be installed at virtually any angle to accommodate whatever space is available. Each unit ships with mounting hardware and brass fittings included.
Quick backs their water heaters with a 3-year warranty covering manufacturing defects, a strong commitment for a product that lives in one of the most demanding environments a water heater can face.
