Raymarine: Over 80 Years of Marine Electronics Innovation

Few names carry as much weight on the water as Raymarine. With more than 80 years of expertise in high-performance marine electronics, Raymarine has earned the trust of offshore fishing captains, cruising sailors, and professional mariners around the globe — including serving as a trusted navigation system supplier to the U.S. Coast Guard. From humble beginnings as a division of Raytheon, which launched its first echo depth sounder in 1923, the brand has grown into one of the world's most recognized names in boating technology.

Today, Raymarine operates offices in 12 countries and partners with over 7,500 dealers and installers across 110 countries. Their products are engineered specifically for the demanding marine environment, earning a reputation for rugged design, ease of use, and long-term reliability. Whether you're navigating offshore swells, fishing inland lakes, or cruising coastal waterways, Raymarine's full ecosystem of electronics is designed to work seamlessly together.

A Complete Ecosystem of Marine Electronics

Raymarine's product lineup spans chartplotters, fishfinders, marine radar, VHF radios, AIS units, thermal cameras, and marine instruments — all built around their LightHouse operating system and SeaTalkng networking protocol, which allow devices to communicate and share data across a single integrated helm. Their flagship Axiom multifunction display series sits at the center of this ecosystem, offering RealVision 3D sonar, augmented reality navigation, and a blazing-fast quad-core processor for responsive, intuitive operation on the water.

For sailors who demand precise environmental data, Raymarine's Wind Speed Indicators are a cornerstone of the instrument lineup. From the i40 and i60 Wind displays to the advanced Smart Wind (RSW) transducer — which uses an integrated 3D motion sensor to deliver self-calibrating true wind speed and direction — Raymarine gives sailors the intelligence they need to make smarter decisions at sea.

Equally important to a well-equipped vessel are Raymarine's Transducers & Accessories. Raymarine offers a comprehensive range of sonar, speed, depth, and wind transducers that integrate directly with their displays and instruments via SeaTalkng. From masthead wind vanes to high-performance CHIRP sonar transducers for fishfinders, these accessories are engineered to deliver accurate, real-time data in even the toughest conditions.

For hands-free helm control, Raymarine's Autopilot systems represent some of the most sophisticated steering technology available to recreational boaters. The Evolution autopilot series uses 9-axis sensor fusion and plug-and-play connectivity to deliver precise, reliable course-keeping — whether you're on a long ocean passage or navigating tight inshore channels.

Built for Every Boater

What sets Raymarine apart isn't just the breadth of their product range — it's the cohesion. Every instrument, transducer, radar, and chartplotter is designed to integrate with the others, reducing installation complexity and maximizing the value of your electronics investment. Raymarine products undergo rigorous testing at world-class facilities, including shake, thermal, flood, and UV exposure tests, ensuring that what works in the lab will hold up on the ocean.

Whether you're upgrading a single instrument or outfitting an entire helm from scratch, Raymarine offers a scalable, future-ready marine electronics platform trusted by boaters at every level.

Product Details

The Raymarine T70278 is an Airmar P79S Smart In-Hull Transducer designed for through-hull depth and temperature sensing without drilling holes in your vessel. This transducer operates at 235 kHz frequency to prevent mutual interference with other echosounders onboard, making it ideal for boats with multiple sonar systems.

Key Features:

 • 235 kHz operating frequency minimizes interference with other depth sounders
 • In-hull installation requires no through-hull holes
 • Can be installed while the boat remains in the water
 • Includes 6m (20 ft) NMEA 2000 cable with DeviceNet connector
 • Easily adapts to deadrise angles up to 22 degrees
 • Recommended for solid fiberglass hulls
 • Can be epoxied to aluminum hulls under 0.38mm (0.150 inch) thick

Compatibility:

 • ST40/ST60/i40/i50 on SeaTalk1 - operates as repeater only (cannot calibrate from these instruments)
 • i50 on STng - operates as repeater only
 • ST70, ST70+ and i70 instruments
 • Note: A SeaTalk to SeaTalkng converter may be required for certain installations

This Smart transducer provides reliable depth and temperature data while simplifying installation compared to traditional through-hull transducers. The in-hull mounting eliminates the need for haul-out and allows for adjustment or relocation without creating permanent holes in your hull.
