Megaware KeelGuard 27041 SkegGuard Stainless Steel Skeg Protector for Yamaha VMAX SHO & HPDI

The Megaware KeelGuard 27041 SkegGuard is a precision-fit stainless steel skeg protector and replacement skeg designed for Yamaha VMAX SHO and VMAX HPDI outboard motors. Whether you're protecting a healthy skeg or restoring a damaged one, this guard delivers a durable, low-profile solution that saves hundreds of dollars in repair costs.

Key Features:

• Constructed from heavy-duty 18-gauge marine-grade 316 stainless steel with a mirror-polished finish for lasting corrosion resistance
• Reinforced 3mm wear tab across the bottom edge — the most vulnerable area — absorbs impacts from submerged rocks, stumps, and ramp dragging
• Built-in drain hole prevents water from collecting inside the guard and causing corrosion or freezing
• Conforms precisely to the lower unit with no discernible drag or performance compromise
• Installs in under 10 minutes using common tools — simply slide onto the skeg with a rubber mallet and secure with pre-drilled holes using a 1/4-inch drill bit
• Can be installed with as little as 2–3 inches of original skeg remaining — ideal for already-damaged skegs
• Secured with self-locking hardware included in the kit
• Backed by a 3-year manufacturer warranty

The SkegGuard 27041 is a cost-effective, DIY-friendly alternative to expensive skeg welding or lower unit replacement. Its profile is engineered to match the OEM skeg shape exactly, ensuring a clean fit and professional appearance.
