When it comes to knowing exactly how much fuel is left in your tank, traditional mechanical gauges have long been the weak link — imprecise, slow, and often frustratingly unreliable. Mopeka set out to change that with a fundamentally different approach: ultrasonic sonar sensing paired with modern Bluetooth and cloud connectivity. How Mopeka's Sonar Technology Works
Mopeka's sonar sensors can measure within +/–1% of the actual tank level — far exceeding current 20-year-old mechanical gauge technology, which has inaccuracy exceeding +/-5%. Instead of floats, pressure readings, or sight gauges, Mopeka sensors bounce ultrasonic pulses off the liquid surface from the outside bottom of the tank, requiring no drilling, no fittings, and no permanent modifications.
The Mopeka TankCheck is a magnetic sensor that mounts to the bottom of the LP tank to indicate the level of propane left in the tank, and it works via Bluetooth to send readings to the TankCheck app on a smartphone or device. The level is updated every 5 seconds when a device is within 150 feet of the sensor.

The Mopeka "Tank Check" app is free for download on Apple and Google Play stores, allowing unlimited tanks and sensors with customizable alarms. Users can access the propane tank gauge app remotely using the Mopeka WiFi Bridge, or monitor tanks without a phone using the Mopeka Monitor. For dealers and fleet operators, the Co-Pilot app enables management of multiple customer tanks from a single dashboard.
