Raymarine Wire & Cable
Raymarine Wire & Cable: The Nervous System of Your Marine Electronics
Every chartplotter reading, autopilot command, and depth sounder ping on your vessel depends on one thing: reliable cabling. Raymarine has spent decades engineering marine-grade wire and cable solutions purpose-built for the demanding saltwater environment, ensuring that every device in your onboard network communicates clearly, consistently, and without interruption. SeaTalkNG: Raymarine's Intelligent Cabling System
SeaTalkNG is Raymarine's cabling system used to carry NMEA 2000 data. What sets it apart from generic NMEA 2000 cabling is a thoughtful design that makes onboard installation far more manageable. Smaller cables without locking collars are easier to route through tight spaces, and a color-coded system — white spur cables and blue backbone cables — eliminates miswiring and helps in blind assembly situations.
The architecture of a SeaTalkNG network is straightforward but scalable. A backbone cable runs through the length of the boat, individual devices connect to the backbone by spur cables that run to T-pieces on the backbone, and the backbone itself carries both data and power to attached devices. SeaTalkNG Spur cables join individual instruments, sensors, or displays to the backbone, and their white connectors fit securely into backbone T-connectors and 5-way connectors for a waterproof connection — available in 400mm, 1m, 3m, 5m, and 6m lengths.
One standout advantage for boaters upgrading older equipment: SeaTalkNG cables contain an extra communication wire for SeaTalk 1, allowing older Raymarine devices to integrate with SeaTalkNG-compatible devices. NMEA 2000 to SeaTalkNG adaptors are also available to simplify connecting devices with NMEA 2000 connectors.
RayNet: High-Speed Ethernet for Demanding Onboard Networks
RayNet is Raymarine's high-speed marine Ethernet cable system that interfaces chartplotters, radar, sonar modules, marine cameras, and other high-bandwidth devices. Equipped with waterproof connectors, RayNet cables provide a rugged and reliable connection between Raymarine devices, and can be used to make direct connections between chartplotters and sensors or to create a larger network with an optional RayNet Gigabit switch. For sailors using the Alpha Performance Display system, a single combined Power & RayNet cable handles both power and data, meaning fewer cables to run through the mast and deck.
Radar Power Cables
Raymarine also offers dedicated power cables matched to their radar product lines. The Quantum radar line is supported by bare-wire power cables in multiple lengths, while Cyclone radar power cables are available in 5m, 10m, 15m, and 25m runs to accommodate a wide range of vessel sizes and mounting configurations. Using the correct Raymarine-matched cable ensures the power supply meets each radar unit's specific requirements without signal degradation or voltage drop.
Why Use Genuine Raymarine Cables?
- Waterproof connectors rated for the marine environment resist corrosion and moisture ingress
- Color-coded system (blue backbone, white spur, red-stripe power) simplifies installation and reduces errors
- Backward compatibility via SeaTalkNG's extra wire supports legacy SeaTalk 1 devices alongside modern NMEA 2000 hardware
- Multiple length options across all cable types minimize excess cable clutter below decks
- NMEA 2000 certified — all Raymarine Axiom series chartplotter displays are NMEA 2000 certified , and genuine Raymarine cables are validated to match
