Wichard 1401W Captive Pin D Shackle 4mm 5/32" 316L Stainless Steel Marine

The Wichard 1401W is a captive pin "D" shackle forged from grade 316L stainless steel, engineered for reliable performance in demanding marine and rigging applications. At 4mm (5/32") pin diameter, this compact shackle delivers outstanding strength while maintaining a secure, tamper-resistant connection.

The defining feature of this shackle is its captive pin design — the pin remains physically connected to the shackle body at all times, even when fully opened. This eliminates the risk of dropping or losing the pin during installation or adjustment, especially critical when working aloft or on the water.

Key Features:

• Captive pin "D" shackle forged in grade 316L stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance
• Pin is permanently connected to the body — cannot be lost even when opened
• Pin locks securely into precision indentations on the body, preventing accidental release from vibration
• Single-handed operation for added safety and convenience
• Outstanding working and breaking load ratings
• CE marked — compliant for industrial and lifting applications (WLL applies to industrial use; safety factor of 5× breaking load)
• Ideal for rigging attachment applications including blocks, head fittings, and similar connections

The Wichard 1401W is built to withstand harsh saltwater environments and high-cycle rigging use, making it a trusted choice for sailors, riggers, and marine professionals worldwide. Available in multiple sizes — this listing is for the 4mm / 5/32" diameter version.
