The OMC 0311598 is a genuine OEM nylon gearcase fill and drain screw washer, sold in a convenient 10-pack for multiple service intervals. This small but essential maintenance part seats under the lower unit drain and fill screws, creating a tight, leak-proof seal that protects the gearcase from oil loss and water intrusion.
It is best practice to replace these washers every time you perform a lower unit gear lube change. Reusing worn washers can compromise the seal and lead to costly gearcase damage. With 10 washers per pack, you'll have enough on hand for five complete gear lube service intervals (two washers per service).
