The OMC 0763774 Timer Base Assembly is an OEM ignition trigger component designed for Johnson and Evinrude V6 cross-flow 2-stroke outboard engines. Also known as a trigger assembly or timer base, this part is a critical element of the capacitor discharge ignition (CDI) system, generating the precise timing signals needed for proper spark delivery and engine performance.
The timer base houses magnetic trigger pickups that work in conjunction with the flywheel and power pack to fire the ignition coils at the correct crankshaft position. A failed or worn timer base can cause hard starting, misfires, erratic ignition timing, or complete loss of spark.
