Wichard Captive Pin Long D Shackle Stainless Steel Shackles

The Wichard Captive Pin Long D Shackle is a forged stainless steel long D shackle (also called a long reach or captive pin shackle) for marine rigging and demanding industrial use. Its extra-long opening suits connections that need more reach than a standard D shackle gives, such as attaching blocks, heads and other fittings.

Key Features:

• Captive pin design: the pin stays attached to the shackle body even when fully unscrewed, so it can't be dropped or lost.
• Self-locking pin: the pin seats in one of the indentations in the shackle body, which helps stop it from loosening under vibration.
• One-handed operation: you can open and close it with one hand, which is safer and easier when working aloft or on deck.
• Forged 316L stainless steel: marine-grade material that resists corrosion and wears well.
• Strong: high working and breaking loads for the size of the shackle.
• Long D profile: extra length for applications that need more reach.

Wichard is a French manufacturer known for stainless steel marine and rigging hardware. This shackle line is a good choice for sailboat rigging, lifelines, block attachments and other places where a pin lost overboard would be a problem. Check the load rating and markings for each size before using one in a lifting application.
