Keel Guard Keel Protector

The Keel Guard Keel Protector (also sold as a boat keel guard or hull keel protector) is a peel-and-stick strip. It attaches to the bottom leading edge of your hull and shields the keel from abrasion. Damage to the keel can wear through the gelcoat finish and let water reach the fiberglass laminates underneath. A keel protector helps prevent that damage.

Key Features:

• Abrasion protection: Guards the keel against sand, rocks, concrete ramps, oyster beds and beaching wear.
• Tough, pliable construction: Made from an abrasion-resistant blend of polymers and urethanes that balances durability and flexibility, so it conforms to the keel.
• 3M pressure-sensitive adhesive: Bonds the strip to the hull for a lasting hold.
• Contoured, self-sealing edges: Give a clean, tight seal without messy sealants.
• Hydrodynamic channels: Angled grooves create air pockets and a slicker surface, which helps keep drag low.
• UV-stabilized color: Resists fading and dulling.
• DIY installation: The usual process is four steps: etch, clean, prime and apply.

A keel protector helps keep the hull looking good and saves on costly fiberglass repairs. It is intended for fiberglass boats and some aluminum boats. Check each variant's listing for the specific size, color and boat length it is made for.
