This Mini Kit includes 50 disposable lids with 200 micron filters, 50 disposable liners and 20 sealing plugs for use with the 3M™ Paint Preparation System (PPS™). The 200 micron filters are recommended for traditional solvent-based paint or primer applications. Graduated measurement to 5 1/2 oz. when used with generic mix-ratio film insert (mix-ratio inserts sold separately).
PPS is a complete painting system from 3M, which produces cleaner jobs, saves on solvent usage and spray-gun cleaning time and can improve operator efficiency by as much as 15%. The liners, lids and built-in filters are all disposable, leaving only the adapters and spray guns to be cleaned, so it's possible to clean up with as little as 3 oz. of solvent. By using these disposable parts in this kit, shops can see up to a 70% savings in cleaning solvent. Also, because the PPS system uses the same cup for mixing and spraying, there is less risk of outside contamination as well as less time spent mixing and cleaning.
Unlike conventional paint cup systems, 3M's PPS eliminates the need for mixing paint in an additional paint mixing cup, then transferring the paint through a separate filter into a paint reservoir. Every time paint is transferred, there is waste left behind in the mixing cup and filter. Not so with PPS. First, place PPS’s disposable liner within the re-usable PPS cup. Then simply mix the paint in the disposable liner, snap-in place the disposable lid (with the pre-welded-in filter) and attach the locking collar and the user is ready to spray. PPS enables a consistent 90°-angle spray to the part, no matter the orientation (even upside down). This not only allows a steady material transfer, which improves quality, but it reduces paint overspray and improves paint consumption too. When done spraying, simply throw away the disposable lid and liner. PPS eliminates the need to clean out the paint reservoir associated with conventional paint cup systems. Mini Size PPS refers to paint volume mixes of up to 6 fl oz.
