Performance Tool Tarps & Accessories: Reliable Protection for the Shop and Beyond
Performance Tool, a brand of Wilmar LLC, has been equipping professionals and DIYers since 1971. Tarps & accessories might seem like a simple category, but Performance Tool approaches them with the same engineering discipline it applies to its hand tools and automotive equipment — making them a go-to option for garages, job sites, campsites, and everything in between.
Poly Tarps Built for Real Conditions
Performance Tool's poly tarp lineup spans a wide range of sizes, from compact 6 x 8 ft covers all the way up to large 20 x 30 ft sheets, so there's a fit for practically any coverage need. The standard-duty blue poly tarps (such as the W6002 and W6009) feature a 4 mil thick construction that resists tearing even in demanding outdoor environments. For those who need more, the HD Poly Tarp line — like the silver W7002 — steps things up with a heavier-duty build suited for prolonged exposure to the elements.
What distinguishes Performance Tool tarps at a construction level is the attention to detail in how they're assembled. Key features across the lineup include:
- Aluminum grommets at double-reinforced corners, spaced evenly for easy and reliable tie-down
- Rope sewn in along the edges for added corner strength and simplified securing around objects
- Dual waterproof surface treatment to repel moisture and protect cargo, equipment, or workspaces
- Water- and tear-resistant material rated to handle harsh outdoor environments
Beyond standard blue tarps, Performance Tool also offers a camouflage-pattern tarp (W6005) in green and brown — a multi-purpose, water-resistant option popular for hunting blinds, outdoor staging, and utility coverage where blending in matters.
Tarp Accessories That Actually Work
A tarp is only as good as how well it's secured. Performance Tool rounds out its offering with purpose-built accessories like the W1892 Heavy Duty Tarp Clips (available in 4-packs). Made from high-impact nylon, these clips are designed to attach directly to any covering, creating instant anchor points without grommets or pre-existing hardware. The multi-clip design features three holes for bungees, straps, or tie-downs, plus friction-fit slots for rope or paracord — giving users maximum flexibility in how they rig up a cover.
Where Performance Tool Tarps Shine
Whether you're protecting a boat, draping a canopy over outdoor equipment, covering a trailer load, or creating a quick shelter at a campsite or fair, Performance Tool's tarp line delivers versatile, dependable coverage. The brand's backing by Wilmar — one of North America's leading distributors of professional tools — means these products are supported by a quality-first philosophy and a satisfaction guarantee that spans its entire catalog.
