Starbrite Grease Guns
Star Brite Grease Guns: Purpose-Built for Marine Lubrication
When it comes to maintaining equipment in and around the water, ordinary tools often fall short. Star Brite has been addressing exactly this problem since 1973, and their line of grease guns is a direct extension of that mission — delivering marine-grade lubrication solutions that stand up to the harshest saltwater environments.
What sets Star Brite grease guns apart from generic options is the tight integration between the applicator and the grease itself. Each kit is designed as a complete lubrication system: the gun ships pre-loaded with a proprietary NLGI #2 marine-grade cartridge that is specifically formulated to protect against saltwater, rust, and corrosion — not just a standard shop-grade grease repurposed for marine use.
Pistol & Lever-Action Models for Every Job
Star Brite offers both pistol-grip and lever-action grease gun configurations, giving boaters and marine mechanics flexibility depending on the task at hand. The pistol grease gun is engineered for single-handed operation, allowing precise grease application even in confined or awkward spaces — a practical advantage when working around trailer hubs, hatch hinges, or below-deck hardware. The lever-action model provides the same marine-grade performance in a traditional format, and its nozzle can be removed so that an optional flexible tube adapter can be installed for hard-to-reach fittings.
Both styles accept standard 3 oz. refill cartridges, making top-ups simple and cost-effective without requiring a new gun each season. The heavy-duty construction of each model ensures reliable service across multiple years of demanding use, whether at the dock, on the trailer, or out on the water.
What Star Brite Grease Protects
The included NLGI #2 marine wheel bearing grease is engineered to perform across a wide temperature range and is well-suited for a broad range of applications beyond trailer wheel bearings alone. Common uses include:
- Boat trailer wheel bearings
- Winches and anchor chain reels
- Hatch hinges and deck hardware
- Pumps and through-hull fittings
- Automotive and powersports components
The grease formula is designed to resist water washout — a critical quality in marine settings where standard greases can be compromised by submersion or prolonged moisture exposure.
