The Action Series Tilt & Trim
The flagship of BMS's tilt and trim lineup is the Action Series Tilt & Trim — an all-in-one hydraulic unit designed to bring real trim functionality to motors that lack it from the factory. Combining tilt and trim in a single unit, it works perfectly on outboards without factory tilt and trim. The Action Series is available in two mounting configurations to suit a wide range of boat setups:
- Clamp-On Style: Designed for motors up to 30 HP, BMS's hydraulic Tilt & Trim can provide increased performance, better handling, and less hassle raising and lowering the motor at the launch ramp.
- BIA Bolt-On Style: Designed for motors up to 115 HP using the BIA bolt pattern, BMS's hydraulic Tilt & Trim delivers increased performance and better handling.
The Tilt & Trim allows boat operators to trim the boat for a smoother, drier ride, and when fully trimmed in, it provides a negative 3-degree tuck-under angle for faster starts and quicker on-plane times. After reaching plane, you can optimize the boat for the best running angle by trimming the tilt up to its maximum of 75 degrees.
Complete Kit, Ready to Install
One of the standout aspects of the BMS Action Series is how complete the package is out of the box. It is easy to install and comes complete with a trim plate, wiring harness, relays, and a rocker-style control switch. A standard 5½-inch setback is built in, keeping the motor properly positioned relative to the transom.
The Tilt & Jac: A Patented Combo Innovation
For boaters who want even more capability, Bob's Machine Shop also offers a uniquely engineered solution. The patented Tilt & Jac combo unit doubles as both a tilt and trim and a jack plate, powered by a single internal hydraulic pump mounted inside the boat. Two hydraulic cylinders in the plate work via a hydraulic solenoid valve, so a simple flip of a switch changes between tilt and jack functions — rated for 50 HP and available in either clamp-on or BIA bolt-on configurations.
