T-H Marine Trim and Tilt Units
T-H Marine Trim & Tilt Units: Precision Outboard Control from a Trusted Marine Brand
Few upgrades transform the on-water experience of a small or mid-size outboard more dramatically than a quality trim and tilt unit. T-H Marine — a family-owned marine innovator with roots going back to 1975 — brings the same engineering rigor it applies across thousands of marine products to its lineup of trim and tilt units, giving boaters precise, powered control over outboard motor angle without the manual effort or guesswork.
The CMC PT-Series: Built for Real-World Boating
T-H Marine's trim and tilt offerings center on the well-regarded CMC PT-Series, a line of electric hydraulic units designed to fit a wide range of outboard horsepower ratings. Two flagship models cover the most common applications:
- CMC PT-35 — Designed specifically for motors up to 35 HP, this compact unit delivers smoother control, faster planing, and better overall efficiency for jon boats, aluminum fishing boats, inflatables, and other lightweight setups. It is constructed from 1/4" 6061 extruded aluminum and stainless steel for lasting durability.
- CMC PT-130 — The CMC PT-130 is a tilt and trim unit designed for use with 130 HP motors and smaller, constructed from 1/2" 6061 T6 extruded aluminum with stainless steel hardware for outstanding corrosion resistance in marine environments. The PT-130 offers a 6" set back for excellent performance with enhanced stability.
Electric-Hydraulic Engineering That Works
The PT-series uses a fully self-contained electric-hydraulic actuator that delivers strong, reliable lifting power without external pumps or hoses. This self-contained design is a key advantage: many boaters with basic tools and experience are able to install the unit themselves, as it is fully self-contained with no external pumps or complex hydraulic lines to plumb.
The system is engineered for years of dependable use, with high-strength aluminum construction and corrosion-resistant components suited for both freshwater and saltwater environments. For the PT-130 specifically, the standard BIA bolt hole pattern and included hardware make installing the tilt and trim a breeze.
Why Motor Trim Angle Matters
Trim and tilt control isn't just a convenience feature — it directly impacts speed, fuel consumption, and handling. A lightweight and durable unit enhances stability and performance, ensuring better handling and lower fuel consumption. By adjusting the motor angle on the fly, boaters can optimize lift off the hole, reduce drag at cruising speed, and protect the lower unit in shallow water — all without stopping the engine or leaving the helm.
A well-matched trim unit gives smaller boats the same trim control found on larger, factory-equipped outboards — improving speed, safety, comfort, and control.
T-H Marine's Pedigree in Outboard Performance
T-H Marine Supplies, Inc., a family-owned and -run manufacturer of boat parts and accessories, was founded back in 1975 and has grown from a three-person enterprise into a 200+ employee corporation offering several thousands of products on the market. T-H Marine products can be found on almost every recreational boat in the U.S., including ski boats, center console boats, runabouts, pontoon boats, deck boats, aluminum fishing boats, and bass boats. Their trim and tilt units carry that same heritage of broad compatibility, thoughtful construction, and real-world performance into one of boating's most impactful upgrade categories.
