Thetford Toilet Tissue
Why Thetford Toilet Tissue Is the Right Choice for Your RV or Boat
Not all toilet paper is created equal — and if you own an RV, boat, or portable toilet, that distinction matters a great deal. Standard household tissue is engineered for high-volume home plumbing, where several gallons of water carry waste away with every flush. Toilet tissue designed for recreational and marine use must meet a completely different standard, and that is precisely where Thetford has built its reputation.
Thetford is one of the most trusted names in RV and marine sanitation, and their toilet tissue lineup is a natural extension of that expertise. RV toilets use only about one quart of water per flush — compared to 1.6 gallons in a standard home toilet — and holding tanks store waste for days at a time rather than routing it immediately to a sewer. This environment demands a tissue that behaves very differently from what you'd find on a supermarket shelf.
Thetford's Toilet Tissue Product Lines
Thetford offers two distinct toilet tissue lines to suit different preferences and system requirements:
- RV/Marine Toilet Tissue (1-ply): An economical one-ply tissue that is 100% biodegradable, Thetford's RV/Marine Toilet Tissue dissolves rapidly to prevent clogging in holding tanks. Each roll contains 350 sheets, and the tissue is designed to rapidly dissolve in holding tanks while preventing damage to internal tank components.
- Aqua-Soft® (2-ply): The Aqua-Soft® line delivers soft and highly absorbent 2-ply comfort, still engineered to rapidly dissolve in holding tanks, reduce clogs in holding tanks and plumbing lines, and prevent damage to holding tank internal components. Available in 4-packs with 396 sheets per roll, the Aqua-Soft® is a popular upgrade for those who want a premium feel without sacrificing system safety.
Engineered for RV, Marine, and Portable Toilets
Thetford toilet tissue is specifically made for RV and marine sanitation systems, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance in these environments. Ordinary toilet paper can cause clogging in the narrow plumbing lines and compact holding tanks found on boats and RVs — a problem that Thetford tissue is precisely engineered to avoid. Thetford Aqua-Soft toilet paper dissolves quickly and prevents clogging in the tank, making it a go-to recommendation from RV technicians and marine mechanics alike.
Whether you're stocking up for a cross-country road trip or a weekend on the water, using the right tissue is one of the simplest ways to protect your sanitation system and avoid costly repairs.
