About Turning Point Propellers
Founded in 1997 and headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, Turning Point Propellers has spent more than 26 years earning a reputation as one of the marine industry's most innovative propeller manufacturers. What started as a drive to engineer better-performing boat props has grown into a globally distributed brand trusted by recreational boaters, dealers, and OEM partners alike. The company's core philosophy is straightforward: Run Faster. Pull Harder. Handle Better.
A Legacy Built on Industry Firsts
Turning Point's history reads like a timeline of marine propulsion innovation. The brand introduced the industry's first multi-manufacturer interchangeable hub propeller, the first full-color prop selection charts, and the first online Prop Wizard calculator to help boaters match the right prop to their engine. Later milestones include the first high-performance four-blade aluminum propeller and the first “safer” propeller design — the Aegis series — engineered to minimize harm to marine life at low boat speeds.
Today, Turning Point's lineup is organized around three flagship series: the Hustler aluminum propellers, the Express stainless steel propellers, and the Aegis safer-design series. Each is built to cover a wide spectrum of engine outputs, from small outboards in the 6 HP range up to powerplants exceeding 300 HP, and fits vessels ranging from bay boats and pontoons to tritoons and sterndrive applications.
Engineering That Sets Turning Point Apart
A key differentiator in Turning Point's manufacturing process is its exclusive squeeze-cast method for aluminum propellers. This technique virtually eliminates the voids and air pockets that weaken conventionally cast props, producing a tighter grain structure and stiffer blades that resist flex — translating directly into more efficient power transfer. Stainless steel Express props feature advanced pitch-line and rake-line cupping along with vented barrels that allow exhaust gases to escape during acceleration, improving hole-shot performance. Turning Point also applies a proprietary Ultracoat powder-coat finish to all aluminum propellers for a corrosion-resistant, high-gloss appearance that holds up in harsh saltwater and freshwater environments alike.
Propellers for Every Boater
The heart of the Turning Point catalog is its broad selection of Turning Point Propellers — three- and four-blade designs in both aluminum and stainless steel, available in right- and left-hand rotation to suit virtually any outboard or sterndrive configuration. Whether you're looking to maximize top speed, improve fuel economy on long cruises, or gain better low-end pulling power for watersports, there is a Turning Point prop engineered for that purpose.
Equally important to a proper propeller installation is the hardware that supports it. Turning Point's line of Propeller Parts & Accessories — including their patented MasterGuard hub kits — rounds out the system. The MasterGuard hub features a one-piece glass-filled nylon over brass spline design that eliminates the failures common in older multi-part sleeve-and-spline systems, while protecting engines and drives from shift shock and impact loads. Crucially, these hub kits are covered by the industry's only lifetime warranty and are compatible with Mercury Flo-Torq II, Michigan Wheel XHS, and Solas Rubex hub kit systems.
