The Raritan Engineering 5310124 is a 24V DC self-priming marine macerator pump designed for reliable holding tank discharge aboard powerboats, sailboats, and houseboats. Built around Raritan's proven 53101 platform, this pump incorporates an integrated waste valve assembly that sets it apart from standard macerator pumps — making servicing cleaner and far less unpleasant.
The included waste valve (gate valve) isolates the impeller from the holding tank discharge port during maintenance, allowing the pump to be removed without disconnecting the intake hose or creating a mess in the bilge. This patent-pending feature eliminates the need for a separate external ball valve and saves valuable space in tight installations.
At the heart of the pump is a proprietary nitrile rubber impeller compound engineered for extended dry-run resistance — a critical advantage since macerator pumps are frequently left running after a tank empties. The motor is fully enclosed, epoxy-encased, and thermally protected, ensuring long service life in demanding marine environments. This pump is also compatible with Raritan's optional Smart Macerator Control (SMC), which automatically shuts down the pump when dry running is detected and periodically jogs the impeller to prevent binding during extended periods of inactivity.
