Sizing & Selection Tip: To determine the correct cable length, measure the routing path from the helm control to the engine throttle/shift attachment point along the unobstructed cable run. For outboard installations, add 18 inches to that measurement. You can also read the length and part number printed directly on your existing cable.

When to Replace: Replace the throttle and shift cable when you notice excessive free play or stiffness at the control, or when the cable shows signs of chafing, kinking, broken fittings, or loose components. Throttle and shift cables cannot be repaired — only replaced. Do not lubricate the inner core, and avoid tight or sharp bends during installation.
