The Quicksilver 8M0082546 is an OEM-grade Platinum Plus Generation II throttle and shift cable measuring 23 feet in length. Determining the Correct Cable Length: Read the length and part number printed on your existing cable, or measure the path from the control to the engine throttle/shift attachment point along the unobstructed cable route. Add 18 inches for outboard installations.

When to Replace Your Cable: Replace the cable when excessive free play or stiffness is felt at the control, or when chafed, broken, bent, or loose parts are visible. Throttle and shift cables cannot be repaired — only replaced. Do not lubricate the core, and avoid tight or sharp bends during installation.
