Intellian TV Antennas: Bringing Prime Time to the Open Water

For mariners who refuse to miss a live game, breaking news, or their favorite series just because they're underway, Intellian has built a reputation as the gold standard in marine satellite TV reception. Rooted in a passion for connectivity at sea, Intellian launched its very first product — the i4 satellite TV antenna — back in 2004, and has been refining and expanding its TV antenna lineup ever since. Today, the brand is widely recognized as one of the world's most versatile makers of marine satellite TV systems, with solutions scaled for everything from a 20-foot weekend runabout to a commercial megayacht.

A Product Line Built for Every Vessel

Intellian structures its TV antenna lineup into several distinct series, each engineered for specific vessel sizes and operational profiles.

• i-Series (Recreational & Cruising): The i-Series spans compact 33 cm (13 in) reflectors on the entry-level i2 all the way up to 60 cm (24 in) dishes on the i6, covering boats from roughly 20 feet to over 70 feet. Every i-Series system is capable of receiving HD programming from any Ku-Band satellite TV provider where available. The popular i4 — a 45 cm (18 in) system — remains one of the most widely chosen satellite TV antennas for pleasure boats, fishing vessels, and workboats in the 35–60 ft range.
• s-Series (DIRECTV & Ka/Ku Dual-Band): Designed specifically for DIRECTV users in the US, the s-Series enables simultaneous reception from all three DIRECTV satellites, delivering full HDTV reception and DVR compatibility for a true “just like home” experience aboard. The newer s100N and s130N models support both Ka-band (DIRECTV) and Ku-band (global/Mediterranean) service.
• t-Series (Commercial & Offshore): Ideal for larger offshore support vessels, megayachts, and commercial ships, the t-Series features a groundbreaking 3-axis stabilized design and Intellian's proprietary WorldView™ LNB technology for operation in all regions around the globe. Four models — t85N, t100N, t130N, and t150N — range from 85 cm up to 150 cm reflectors.

Patented Technologies That Set Intellian Apart

What truly differentiates Intellian TV antennas is the depth of engineering behind the dome. The brand holds patents on several core technologies that address the unique challenges of tracking a satellite signal from a moving vessel:

• Wide Range Search (WRS) Algorithm: Intellian's patented WRS locks onto even the weakest edges of a satellite signal and finds the peak four to five times faster than conventional antennas.
• Dynamic Beam Tilting (DBT): Using real-time beam analysis, DBT holds signal lock through vessel motion while also reducing motor use by up to 80% over conventional systems — meaning quieter operation and less mechanical wear.
• WorldView™ LNB: Intellian's patented WorldView™ LNB eliminates the need to manually swap hardware or reprogram the system when a vessel crosses from one regional satellite footprint to another. Changing providers requires nothing more than a few taps on the AptusNTV app or the ACU front panel.
• Unlimited Azimuth Rotation: A unique rotary joint and slip ring solution means the antenna never needs to “unwrap” — signal stays locked through even the tightest maneuvers.

Smart Control with AptusNTV

Every modern Intellian TV antenna system ships with the AptusNTV management platform — a web-based interface accessible from any PC, tablet, or smartphone via Wi-Fi. A seven-step installation wizard simplifies initial setup, while one-touch firmware and satellite library updates keep the system current without requiring a technician visit. Multiple TV outputs are supported, allowing different channels to be watched on different screens simultaneously throughout the vessel.

Whether you're outfitting a coastal cruiser or a working ship, Intellian's TV antenna systems are built to marine-grade standards and backed by an industry-leading warranty program. Browse the full selection of Intellian TV antennas to find the right system for your vessel and service provider.
