Megaware KeelGuard 20505 DIY Boat Keel Protector 5ft Gray

The Megaware KeelGuard is the original do-it-yourself keel protector, engineered to defend your boat's hull against the abrasive damage caused by sand, rocks, concrete launch ramps, and oyster beds. Unprotected keels are susceptible to gelcoat breakdown that allows water to infiltrate and destroy fiberglass laminates — the KeelGuard provides a durable barrier that eliminates costly repairs and preserves your investment.

Advanced Engineering:

Developed in collaboration with boat designers and 3M engineers, the KeelGuard combines a precisely formulated, abrasion-resistant blend of polymers and urethanes for optimal durability and flexibility. A multi-layer construction featuring foam padding and an ultra-tough polymer composite exterior absorbs shock and protects against scratches and structural damage. A 3M pressure-sensitive adhesive permanently bonds and seals the guard's self-sealing contoured edges directly to the hull surface — no messy sealants required.

Hydrodynamic Design:

Patented angled grooves create hydrodynamic drag reduction channels that generate air pockets along the hull surface, providing a slicker bottom and maintaining boat speed and performance. The KeelGuard is designed for the marine environment and will not slow your boat down.
