Megaware KeelGuard Boat Keel Protector

The Megaware KeelGuard Boat Keel Protector is a self-adhesive keel guard, also called a hull or keel protector. It shields your boat's keel from abrasion caused by sand, rocks, oyster beds and concrete ramps. Damage to the keel can wear through the gelcoat. That lets water reach the fiberglass laminates underneath. KeelGuard gives the hull a tough, shock-absorbing buffer against that wear.

Key Features:

• Made from an abrasion-resistant blend of polymers and urethanes. It is tough but pliable enough to conform to the keel.
• Pressure-sensitive 3M adhesive bonds the protector to the hull.
• Self-sealing contoured edge forms a clean, tight seal without messy sealants.
• Patented hydrodynamic design has angled grooves that create air pockets and a slicker surface. This reduces drag so the boat's performance is not slowed.
• UV-stabilized colors resist fading.
• Do-it-yourself installation in four steps: etch, clean, prime and apply.
• Made in the USA.

KeelGuard is designed for fiberglass boats and some aluminum boats. It may not suit aluminum hulls with a reinforced rib design. It is also not recommended where the boat's full weight rests on keel rollers or a support beam on the trailer. Megaware developed it with boat designers and 3M engineers. It is a long-lasting way to protect your hull when beaching or launching, and it helps preserve your boat's finish and value.
