Shadow-Caster LED Lighting: Illuminating the Marine World
Founded in 2007, Shadow-Caster LED Lighting was born from a straightforward mission: build better underwater lights for boats. What started as dissatisfaction with the limited options available at the time has grown into one of the most respected names in marine LED lighting. Headquartered in Clearwater, Florida, Shadow-Caster designs, engineers, and manufactures its entire lineup in-house — from precision-machined housings to final electronic assembly — giving the brand complete control over quality and performance.
Shadow-Caster's product range covers every area of a vessel's lighting needs. Their celebrated underwater lights are engineered for exceptional brightness and durability, available in single-color and full-color RGBW configurations to suit anglers, cruisers, and performance boaters alike. Above the waterline, spreader and mast lights illuminate working decks, T-tops, and radar arches so crew can operate safely after dark. Courtesy lights, down lights, and accent strips — found across the miscellaneous lights category — round out a truly complete lighting ecosystem for any size vessel.
What truly sets Shadow-Caster apart is its leadership in marine lighting intelligence. The brand helped develop NMEA 2000 lighting standards, and its award-winning lighting control modules — including the acclaimed Light Commander PLUS series — integrate seamlessly with major multifunction display (MFD) platforms from Garmin, Raymarine, Furuno, Simrad, Lowrance, Humminbird, and B&G. Boaters can manage multiple lighting zones, color effects, and brightness levels directly from the helm display or a companion smartphone app. The Single Zone Lighting Controller (SCM-SZ-RGB) was even named one of Boating Industry Magazine's Top Products of 2025, a testament to Shadow-Caster's relentless innovation.
Managing power for complex multi-light installations is made straightforward with Shadow-Caster's switch panels and digitally controlled power distribution modules. Products like the SCM-PWR6 and SCM-PD4CH accommodate 12V or 24V systems, feature individual self-healing fuses with digital over-current protection, and carry IP67 washdown ratings — built for the harshest marine environments. All Shadow-Caster power modules are made in the USA and backed by a three-year warranty.
Whether you're rigging a center console, a pontoon, or a large offshore yacht, Shadow-Caster offers a scalable, integrated lighting solution that blends style, safety, and cutting-edge technology. Their multi-disciplinary engineering approach — spanning electrical, optical, mechanical, and software disciplines — means every product is built to exceed the demands of life on the water.
