The ARCO Zeus A8000-48V 8kW Marine Alternator delivers exceptional high-output charging performance for 48-volt marine, RV, military, and commercial applications. Engineered with a native 48V rotor design, this alternator turns on at lower RPMs, runs significantly cooler, and provides more power than competing 48V alternators that are larger and heavier.
This high-performance alternator continuously generates over 3kW (55 Amps) at just 2,500 RPM and nearly 6kW (111 Amps) at 4,000 alternator RPM. In real-world applications, a marine diesel engine charging at 1,200 RPM with a 3.13:1 pulley ratio generates just over 5kW (97 Amps), while a Mercedes Sprinter at 750 RPM with a 3.21:1 ratio produces over 3kW (55 Amps). Unlike competitor alternators that simply adapt 12V rotors for 48V use, the Zeus A8000-48V utilizes a purpose-built 48V rotor and field current for superior efficiency and cooler operation at all RPM ranges.
