Wichard 1304W Self-Locking Allen Head Pin D Shackle 8mm 5/16"

The Wichard 1304W is a self-locking Allen head pin D shackle designed for demanding marine and industrial applications. Drop-forged from grade 316L stainless steel, this 8mm (5/16") shackle delivers outstanding corrosion resistance, superior strength, and long-term reliability in harsh saltwater environments.

The defining feature of this shackle is its flush-fitting Allen (socket) head pin, which sits fully recessed within the shackle body. This low-profile design eliminates any risk of snagging on lines, sails, or rigging — a critical advantage over traditional shackles with protruding pin heads. The pin locks securely into precision indentations in the shackle body, preventing accidental release caused by vibration or cyclic loading.

Key Features:

• Drop-forged grade 316L stainless steel construction for maximum corrosion resistance and strength
• Self-locking pin engages machined indentations in the shackle body — no risk of loosening from vibration
• Flush Allen head pin sits flush with the shackle body, eliminating snagging hazards
• Working Load (nautical): 2,110 lb (960 kg)
• Working Load Limit / WLL (industrial lifting): 1,190 lb (540 kg)
• Breaking Load: 5,950 lb (2,700 kg)
• WLL safety factor: 5:1 (breaking load ÷ 5)
• CE marked and batch number stamped on the shackle body for traceability and authenticity
• Designed and manufactured in France
• High-polish finish

The Wichard 1304W is ideally suited for anchor-chain connections, halyard attachments, sail hardware, and any application where space is limited and a clean, snag-free profile is essential. The WLL rating makes it suitable for certified industrial lifting applications as well.
