Product Details

The Wichard MXLEvo 12 is a high-performance soft block and low-friction fairlead engineered for heavy-load sailing applications. Constructed from duplex-grade stainless steel and Dyneema® SK78, it delivers a 8,370 lb (3,800 kg) breaking load and a 3,520 lb (1,600 kg) working load in a compact, sheave-free package that weighs just 0.198 lb (90g). Ideal for both racing and recreational sailors, this versatile block handles ropes up to 12mm (15/32") in diameter.

Key Features:

  • Heavy-Load Rated: Working load of 3,520 lb (1,600 kg); breaking load of 8,370 lb (3,800 kg) — suited for mast foot blocks, halyard tackles, barber haulers, block and tackle systems, sheet returns, and large sail foot applications
  • Delivered Ready to Use: Includes a Dyneema SK78 loop — no special tools or technical knowledge required for installation
  • Universal Attachment: Mounts quickly to any anchoring point including chain plates and head ropes; loop can be positioned in one of two orientations to suit your deck layout
  • Stainless Steel Rope Housing: Retains rope inside the block when the system is unloaded, preventing the rope from falling out
  • No Maintenance Required: Contains no moving parts such as a sheave, making it virtually maintenance-free and extremely reliable over time
  • Exceptional Strength-to-Weight Ratio: Compared to conventional blocks, the MXLEvo 12 is twice as robust and half the weight
  • Premium Materials: Duplex stainless steel grade S78 body with Dyneema® SK78 loop for outstanding corrosion resistance and tensile strength

Went well. Just what I needed. Thanks!

Tires arrived in great condition

Shipping took longer than expected as I paid for expedited shipping. I reached out to ask why it wasn't sent two day and got no reply. The customer service could really use improvement and this is reflected in multiple reviews. However, the products arrived safely and as described. I'm very satisfied with the pricing as well. At the end of the day, that's the most important thing.

Good service and quick shipping

Great price

Incredibly easy to find the part and price is great.

Great shopping experience.

I have one of these on another boat. I love it and it's saved my lower unit more than once when I unexpectedly found a stump or hard bottom.. It also allows me to run with the motor higher because if the set back.
