Uflex 3300 Control Cables
Uflex 3300 Control Cables: Precision Shift & Throttle for Every Boater
When it comes to reliable, responsive shift and throttle control on the water, few names carry as much weight as Uflex. Established in 1989, Uflex USA is a leader in steering and control systems for the marine industry, with full manufacturing capabilities in Sarasota, Florida. As an affiliate of the Ultraflex Group, Uflex USA draws upon tremendous resources for new product development in hydraulics, electronics, and many other technologies. That deep engineering heritage is on full display in their lineup of 3300 control cables.
The MACHZero Series: High-Efficiency Engineering
Uflex's flagship 3300-style cable line is the MACHZero series — and it's built around a core engineering insight. Designed to make even the most complex cable installations result in smooth, easy, and precise shift and throttle movement, MACHZero cables feature a patented stranded wire core with lubricated extrusion. The innovative core design maximizes efficiency and minimizes lost motion, while the exclusive conduit design provides an extremely high level of flexibility. This directly addresses a long-standing challenge in cable design: cables with a stiff, tightly-fitted core offered less lost motion but were harder to shift, while cables with a more flexible, loosely-fitted core frequently had a sloppy feel and poor transfer of motion. The MACHZero architecture resolves that trade-off.
High flexibility for reduced bend radius makes MACHZero cables especially well-suited for complex routing through tight engine compartments. With 10-32 thread universal fittings, these cables are designed to work with many OEM and aftermarket marine engine controls. MACHZero cables are for use with inboard, sterndrive, and outboard engines, and are compatible with Yamaha engines over 60 hp, Suzuki, Honda, Nissan, Tohatsu, and Volvo. To adapt cables for use with Mercury and MerCruiser engines, the UFK56 adapter kit is available, and the K57 adapter kit works for Johnson and Evinrude applications. The MACHZero serves as a direct replacement cable for Teleflex TFXTREME CC223 and Morse 33C Supreme 301947-003 control cables.
The C8 Series: Premium Universal 3300-Type Cables
Alongside MACHZero, Uflex also offers the C8 Series for boaters seeking a proven, dependable 3300-style solution. The C8 is a universal 33C-style control cable with stainless steel 10-32 UNF threaded end fittings and a full complement of lay wires for enhanced efficiency and durability. It serves as a direct replacement for Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, and other engines, and is applicable to Mercury Gen I installations with the optional K56 connection kit, as well as post-1979 Johnson/Evinrude engines using the optional K57 connection kit.
Choosing the Right Length
Uflex 3300 control cables are available in a wide range of lengths to suit virtually any vessel. If you're replacing an existing cable, look on the cable itself, about 12 to 24 inches from the rack — the cable part number is typically stamped with white letters on the sheathing, and the last two digits indicate the length. If that's not legible, simply remove and measure the existing cable: measure the plastic cable jacket in inches, add 30 inches, and round up to the next foot.
