Every product reflects a commitment to safety standards and real-world performance that has made Blue Sea Systems a leading name in marine and specialty vehicle electrical systems.

Engineering for the Marine Environment

Blue Sea Systems develops and manufactures dependable AC and DC electrical products for marine and specialized vehicle applications, designed in the USA and engineered to excel in challenging environments. The marine environment presents unique challenges—salt spray, constant vibration, temperature extremes, and moisture exposure—that can quickly degrade inferior electrical components. Blue Sea Systems addresses these challenges through careful material selection, rigorous testing protocols, and designs that prioritize both safety and serviceability. Their components are engineered for marine use and align with the intent of ABYC E-11: AC and DC Electrical Systems on Boats and relevant USCG electrical regulations.

Commitment to Safety Standards

Safety standards aren't just guidelines for Blue Sea Systems—they're fundamental to every product design. All Blue Sea Systems marine battery disconnect switches comply with the ABYC C-7 certification, demonstrating their commitment to meeting and exceeding industry safety requirements. The company maintains ABYC-certified employees across multiple departments, from engineering to technical support, ensuring deep expertise in marine electrical system design and installation standards.

Comprehensive Product Range

Blue Sea Systems offers an extensive catalog designed to address every aspect of marine electrical systems. Their circuit breakers provide resettable overcurrent protection with trip-free designs and clear trip indication for quick diagnostics. For power management, their battery switches offer reliable methods for controlling battery banks and disconnecting loads during storage or emergencies, with ABYC C-7 compliance guaranteed.

Monitoring system health is critical aboard any vessel, which is why their battery monitors and volt meters provide accurate real-time data to help operators make informed decisions about power usage and charging. The company's terminal blocks and bus bars create organized, serviceable connection points that simplify installation and future modifications. For keeping batteries properly charged, Blue Sea Systems offers battery chargers engineered with features like automatic charging relay compatibility and proper charge profile management.

Built by Boaters, for Boaters

Blue Sea Systems was founded based on a commitment to create innovative high quality marine electrical products to improve the safety, simplicity, and reliability of boating, with employees who are active boaters applying their passion to designing, developing, and building products. This firsthand experience translates into practical features like modular layouts, standardized footprints, and installer-centric designs that streamline panel work and serviceability. The result is a product line that addresses real challenges faced on the water, backed by comprehensive technical documentation and support resources that help both professionals and DIY enthusiasts complete installations with confidence.

Product Details

The Blue Sea Systems L-Series Solenoid Switch is engineered to control high amperage switching tasks without the need to run heavy gauge cable throughout your vessel. This marine-grade solenoid eliminates the complexity and expense of routing large cables by allowing you to activate high-current circuits remotely using low amperage wire.

Key Features:

 • Switches loads up to 450A continuous (cable size dependent) with 1000A cranking capacity
 • Hermetically sealed, vaporproof contacts designed for harsh marine environments
 • Can be mounted anywhere on board including engine compartments (ignition protected)
 • Remote activation using control wire as small as 20 AWG dramatically reduces installation complexity
 • Compatible with both 12V and 24V DC systems
 • Integrated coil design minimizes heating and current draw during operation
 • Compact footprint allows installation close to circuits being switched
 • 5/16" terminal studs accommodate cable sizes up to 2/0 AWG
 • Normally open coil function
 • Meets CE, SAE J1171 marine, UL 508, and IP67 standards

Technical Specifications:

 • Nominal Voltage: 12V or 24V DC
 • Input Voltage Range: 9V-36V DC
 • Continuous Rating: 250A-450A (dependent on cable gauge)
 • Intermittent Rating: 275A-600A
 • Cranking Rating (30 seconds): 1000A DC with 1/0 AWG cable
 • Operating Current: 6A while changing state
 • Control Circuit: 20 AWG tinned wire minimum
 • Terminal Stud Size: 5/16"

Perfect for engine starting circuits, battery switching, windlass control, or any high-amperage marine application requiring remote switching capability. Blue Sea Systems backs this solenoid with a lifetime warranty.

Autoplicity had the best price I could find on an Invidia downpipe for my 08+ Subaru STI. I had to pay for shipping but the total price was still well below their competitors who advertised free shipping.

Thanks Autoplicity!
Matt

very good

Best price and instant service.
What more can you ask for.

Great website with very quick response time and fast shipping. Product arrived as described, however packing fell short of my expectations as manufacturer's box was taped up and components were jarred around during transit causing some pieces to be scratched. Overall, would certainly do business with the company again due to flawless customer service.

Ordered my car accessory on 8/2, shipped on 8/3 and will be delivered on 8/4. Best prices online, great service, product in stock, and fast delivery. Nice Job & Kudos to Autoplicity!

Very quick service and lowest price.
