Marelon Ball Valves provide a cost-effective, corrosion-resistant method of controlling inlet and outlet water requirements above- and below-the-waterline.
Molded from lightweight, high-strength Marelon, these Ball Valves are highly resistant to corrosion, UV degradation and abrasion. Their NPS parallel threads can be sealed with Teflon® tape or plumber's putty. Any marine-grade sealant or bedding compound can be used as you would with bronze fittings. In fact, Marelon and bronze fittings can be fitted together as long as you are careful not to cross thread. Marelon is UV stabilized and will not deteriorate in sunlight. These tailpieces can be used above- or below-the-waterline and exceed Marine UL and ABYC standards. After 11,000 duty cycles, these valves still hold 80psi of air leak-free.
Marelon Ball Valves feature female NPS threads on each end. Threads are parallel "NPS," which stands for "Nominal Pipe Size."
