Panther 35SS700 Safe-Skeg Stainless Steel Outboard Skeg Protector

The Panther Safe-Skeg 35SS700 is a precision-fit stainless steel skeg protector designed to shield the lower unit of compatible Yamaha outboard motors from costly impact damage. Whether you're protecting a new skeg or restoring one that has already suffered chips or bends from rocks and debris, the Safe-Skeg delivers a seamless, mirror-polished finish that brings your lower unit back to like-new appearance and performance.

The skeg — located at the lowest point of the outboard's lower unit — acts as a directional rudder, enabling straight-line tracking and responsive steering. Because of its exposed position, it is highly vulnerable to underwater strikes. A bent or damaged skeg can cause handling problems, tracking issues, and accelerated lower unit wear. The Panther Safe-Skeg slides over the original skeg to provide a tough, protective shell and restore proper function.
