Measuring 14 feet (4.3m) in length, this factory original replacement cable delivers reliable, precise throttle and shift control in demanding marine environments.

Built with a layered technology construction, this cable features a 100% wire-wrapped outer conduit for added strength and a polypropylene outer jacket that resists UV damage and abrasion. A sealed lubrication system with lubricated core liner surrounds the stainless steel inner core, reducing friction for smooth operation and long-term corrosion resistance. Nickel-plated fittings further protect against the harsh marine environment.

Sizing Guide: To determine the correct cable length for a new installation, measure the path from the control to the engine throttle/shift attachment point along the unobstructed cable route, then add 18 inches for outboard applications. For a direct replacement, measure the existing cable tip-to-tip and subtract seven inches.

When to Replace: Replace the throttle and shift cable when you notice excessive free play or stiffness at the control, or when any chafed, broken, bent, or loose parts are visible. Throttle and shift cables cannot be repaired — only replaced. Do not lubricate the inner core, and avoid tight or sharp bends during installation.
