Also commonly called flush muffs or earmuffs, these devices attach to the water intake ports on your engine's lower unit and connect to a standard garden hose, allowing you to run fresh water through the cooling system without launching your boat.

The core purpose is straightforward: removing salt, sediment, and mineral buildup from the engine's cooling passages. Over time, these materials accumulate inside the cooling system, restricting water flow and leading to dangerous overheating.
