Maxwell Horizontal Windlass Chain Rope Windlasses

Maxwell horizontal rope/chain windlasses are above-deck anchor windlasses (also called anchor winches) for boats. They retrieve and deploy rope-and-chain rodes, and they also work with all-chain rodes. The horizontal layout keeps the motor and drive on deck. That helps when anchor locker space below deck is limited.

Key Features:

• Wave Design chainwheel: Maxwell's patented chainwheel grips rope well with less wear. It also accommodates a range of chain pitch differences within the specified chain size.
• Pressure arm system: It holds the rode securely. This gives a smooth transition between rope and chain as the anchor is raised or lowered.
• Above-deck installation: The bolt-down design makes installation and routine maintenance easier.
• Marine-grade construction: The housings are corrosion-resistant alloy, and the motor and drive are sealed against water.
• Manual backup options: Depending on the model, the windlass has a clutch or free-fall function for anchor lowering. Some models also allow emergency manual recovery.
• Versatile rode handling: The windlasses work with short-link marine chain and with rope rodes. Chain and rope sizes depend on the model.

Maxwell is a well-known maker of anchoring and deck equipment for power and sail boats. Its horizontal windlass range suits a variety of vessel sizes. Choose the model that matches your chain and rope size and your boat's anchoring needs.
