Megaware KeelGuard Keel Protector

The Megaware KeelGuard Keel Protector (also called a boat keel guard or hull keel protector) is the original do-it-yourself keel protection system. It shields your boat's keel and gelcoat from abrasion caused by sand, rocks, concrete ramps, oyster beds and repeated beaching. Damage to the gelcoat can let water reach the fiberglass laminate underneath, and a keel protector helps prevent that.

Key Features:

• Patented design developed with boat designers and 3M engineers
• Abrasion-resistant, shock-absorbing blend of polymers and urethanes that is tough but pliable enough to follow the shape of the keel
• 3M pressure-sensitive adhesive bonds the protector permanently to the hull
• Self-sealing contoured edges form a tight seal, so no messy sealants are needed
• Angled grooves create hydrodynamic channels and air pockets that reduce drag
• UV-stabilized colors that hold up in outdoor exposure
• Made in the USA

KeelGuard is made for easy installation by the boat owner. Follow the manufacturer's surface preparation and priming instructions closely, because the adhesive bond depends on them. Install it at an ambient temperature of 60°F or above. If your trailer carries the boat's full weight on rollers or a support beam along the keel, the rollers need to be lowered or the side bunks raised to clear them so the adhesive bond isn't compromised.

The KeelGuard line helps protect your boat's finish and its value, and it saves you from costly hull repairs.
