Product Details

The CDI Electronics 1239898P is an Electronic Shift Assist (ESA) module designed for OMC sterndrive and outboard engines equipped with points distributors or electronic points replacement kits. This module temporarily retards ignition timing during gear shifts, reducing engine RPM to allow smooth, reliable shifting without grinding or clunking.

  • Compatible with 4, 6, and 8 cylinder OMC engines
  • Works with both points distributors and electronic points replacement distributors
  • Includes wire loop for overstroke switch compatibility, allowing use of both interrupter and overstroke switches
  • Reduces idle speed by 400-600 RPM during shifting for smooth gear engagement
  • Essential component when upgrading from points to electronic ignition

Replaces OMC Part Numbers: 982749, 982755, 982774, 984036, 984276, 984281, 984730, 984740, 985902, 986342, 986837, 987738, 987739, 987740. Also replaces aftermarket numbers 18-5888, 18-5889, 18-5890, 9-24500, 9-24501, and 9-24502.

Everything was great from autoplicity, but Fed ex their tracking of shipment sucks. All it does is say shipped, then in transit, finally delivered, that isnt order tracking that's basically the shipping process, it said in transit for 3 days (of course) leaving me with no idea how close it is.

I can only, at this point say shipping was fast, product was as advertised - I wont be able to install till spring as boat is out in dry dock. If I remember - I'll do a up date once installed. Two other boats I know use CDI so I am confident it will do the trick. Thanks
