About Metro Marine
Metro Marine LLC is a specialized designer and manufacturer of advanced LED lighting systems built for the demanding conditions of marine environments. Metro Marine was founded by Daniel Deutsch and Scott Usher, who together bring more than 35 years of combined experience in innovative lighting solutions. After years of collaboration on LED projects across the United States, the two merged their respective companies — Inner Spaces and Prism Industries — forming Metro Light & Power LLC, the parent organization under which Metro Marine was created.
Engineering Solutions to Marine Lighting's Biggest Problems
What truly sets Metro Marine apart is not just the quality of its light output — it is the engineering ingenuity behind each fixture. Anyone who has owned an underwater boat light knows the frustration: within weeks, marine growth clouds the lens, and moisture creeps into the housing. Metro Marine made it their mission to eliminate both issues permanently.
Starting in 2012 with a project in Long Island Sound, Metro Marine's engineers began researching how to combat biofouling on underwater lighting fixtures. Their breakthrough came by integrating ultraviolet C (UVC) LEDs — the same technology used in water purification systems — directly into the fixture design. This innovation resulted in the industry's first underwater lighting fixture proven to resist marine growth in all water types and temperatures, across the entire product line.
Condensation presented a separate but equally destructive challenge. Internal moisture causes corrosion that can destroy a fixture from the inside out. Metro Marine addressed this by manufacturing all fixtures in a Class 1000 Clean Room and developing a patented dry gas assembly process — a method borrowed from aerospace and medical industries — to completely eliminate condensation from the sealed housing. The result is a fixture that carries no risk of internal corrosion during normal use.
These two breakthroughs are packaged under Metro Marine's patented SeaBeam™ technology, ensuring that lenses remain permanently crystal clear and free of marine growth.
The F-Series: Full Spectrum Underwater Lighting
Metro Marine's flagship F-Series represents the brand's most advanced product line to date. The F-Series introduces a 72 high-output LED array per fixture, enabling close adjacent fixture placement where fully mixed, uniform illumination is critical. Unlike conventional RGBW fixtures that run color and white LEDs separately, the F-Series integrates a dedicated white LED within each of the 18 individually optically lensed RGBW configurations, producing superior whites and richer color blends. Fixtures are available in both 45-degree and 90-degree beam angles, making them well-suited to everything from mid-size boats to large-scale yachts and marina structures ranging from 32 to 100 feet.
All F-Series underwater lights feature watertight aluminum bronze housings with silicon bronze hardware, rated for submersion up to 15 feet. Compatible with 10–30VDC marine electrical systems, they are equally at home on yacht hulls, dock pilings, sea walls, and even fountain and theme park installations. The full lineup of Metro Marine underwater lights also includes accessories such as lighting controllers, wiring, and mounting hardware to complete any installation.
